The St. Benedict Catholic Worker is part of the Catholic Worker Movement begun on May 1, 1933 by Dorothy Day and Peter Maurin. We are a sister house of the Los Angeles Catholic Worker.
Activities include: 12-week Grief education and support groups are provided twice a year; counseling services; food pantry; Friday Vespers and roundtable discussions. Liza Apper holds an MPS Degree from Loyola University New Orleans. In addition, she is a trained and certified grief counselor having over 300 credit hours of post-Masters graduate study with Dr. Alan Wolfelt of The Center for Loss and Life Transition in Fort Collins, CO.
